Our Story
A New Beginning for an Old Place
The Gardiner Arms has been serving the Tackley village community for almost 250 years and in 2024 it began a new chapter in it's history as it re-opened it's doors for the first time in over a year to serve the community again.
Our team is made up of local people from the surrounding area, all bringing different backgrounds, personalities, and experience — but sharing one thing in common: a passion for the pub and the community it serves. We even have a ‘pub chaplain’ in the form of Father Robin!
We are dedicated to delivering a pub experience worthy of the local community, and as locals ourselves we are passionate about making The Gardiner Arms a welcoming place for everyone.
Everyone is welcome in our pub (including four-legged friends!), and we are always open to ideas and suggestions on how we can continue improving the experience for our customers.

Whether you have experience working behind a bar, in hospitality, or are simply interested in working in a busy community pub environment, we’d love to hear from you. Flexible hours and training can be provided for the right candidates.
We also welcome applications for kitchen support, waiting, and cleaning at certain times of the year.
